GAINING GROUND (guépard, cheetah)

'GAINING GROUND' (guépard, cheetah) est une sculpture en bronze réalisée par l'Artiste Mick Doellinger (USA) pour Animal Art Gallery Paris. Elle est éditée en petite série limitée et numérotée. Chaque exemplaire est livré avec un certificat d'authenticité signé par l'Artiste. Cette sculpture représente un guépard en pleine course, sans doute en train de chasser une antilope, proie de prédilection de cet animal sauvage. Le guépard peut atteindre une vitesse de 110-120 km/h, grâce à un squelette très léger, une silhouette fine et aérodynamique. Ses foulées sont longues grâce à une colonne vertébrale très flexible qui lui permet d’étirer son corps au maximum. La longue queue du guépard l’aide à garder l’équilibre, il s'en sert comme d'un gouvernail. Il possède un gros cœur et ses poumons sont très développés, ses fosses nasales lui assurant une bonne oxygénation pendant l’effort. Son rythme cardiaque est très élevé. Souvent, il tire sa proie sous un arbre, se repose longuement avant de la dévorer mais doit rester extrêmement vigilant car en état de vulnérabilité.

The cheetah can reach speeds of 110-120 km/h, thanks to a very light skeleton and a slim, aerodynamic silhouette. Its strides are long, thanks to a highly flexible spine that allows it to stretch its body to the maximum. The cheetah's long tail helps it keep its balance, acting as a rudder. It has a large heart and well-developed lungs, with nasal cavities for oxygenation during exertion. Its heart rate is very high. It often pulls its prey under a tree, rests for a long time before devouring it, but must remain extremely vigilant as it is in a vulnerable state.
