ENTRACTE n°2 (LION AU REPOS)

'Entracte n°2' (lion au repos) is a work by Julie Salmon, made with ink on paper, measuring 50 x 50 cm. It has a slightly profile lion lying down; he seems to have fallen asleep. It is a unique and elegant work that depicts the lion’s silhouette in a stylised and fair way. The artist draws the latter by fine lines, then dyes certain areas in grey with a thin layer of diluted ink. The ink allows to create different tones and intensities, giving relief to the work. It is an elegant work taking the appearance of a sketch. Indeed, the neutral tones reflect the colors naturally present in the natural environments where this species lives. It is a meticulous and elegant work. Julie Salmon represents the animals she observes closely in her work in a unique way. In addition, it uses light and dark tones and details to represent animals.
